Therapy the Broussard Way

I am an immigrant from Guyana South America. I was a single mom on welfare when I had to choose to get my masters degree to provide for my kids. That decision led me to where I am today. I have always been who I am. Most of my clients say, I am also a comedian. It would have to be sit down instead of stand up though. I am from the place where Jim Jones massacred his followers. So, when I’m helping clients stuck in narcissistic relationships, I say “They are drinking the cool-aid”. I am now also a wife to a 100% disabled veteran and a mom of four. I am a crusader for chronic illness sufferers as I have 99 problems but proper treatment ain’t one. Every thing I learn, I share with my clients and they share things with me. I am not like any therapist or doctor out there. I do active therapy. If I need to yell, scream, cry get on the floor or laugh with my clients, I will. If I need to take a client shopping to find their new look for their new self, I will. If I have take a client to the grocery store to show them how to shop efficiently, I will. If I have to do homework with a kid to figure out where they are struggling I will. I do whatever my clients need to feel confident in themselves and their lives. Lastly, I am only one person so, I am training new therapists to be as good as me. To actually care enough to meet clients where they’re at and walk with them to success. I want people to say, “ You can see anyone at Broussard Marriage & Family Therapy, they are all incredible.
